swarms, swine flu and sweltering heat!?
we are being invaded today the heat is still hotter than heck but we opened the windows today to get at least some sembalance of a breeze blowing through the house but as we opened the window we noticed there there was ants all over the walls in the house they had to have been coming through the window blergh it wasnt nice not at all everytime you looked up there was another one making a run for it across the windowsill or along the wall blergh! it makes me itchy just thinking about it all. in the end we closed the window and just sat here sweltering it isnt nice but at least it cuts down the amount of little creepy crawlies exploring our home, its so hard to keep the place free from insects too especially with belle running around dropping her food sometimes but we are managing to contain the germ carrying infestation so far!
talking of germ carrying I have been hearing alot of panic about the swine flu! Holy moly I really hope I dont get this I know it is a slim chance as any sort of flu it is normally me that comes down with it but it sounds sort of nasty and I dont like the idea of catching it or them putting a block on travel if there is anything that is gonna stop me getting back home I will be the most peeved person ever in the world. what advice do they offer?? wear a face mask! yeah as though I am not hot enough I am gonna wear a mask too, stay away from polluted air??? how the heck are you supposed to do that in this weather?? oh and stay away from infected people well I am not planning any trips to mexico anytime soon so I am crossing my fingers that I will escape this one. I never know weather to believe it either I mean it seems that every time the government cocks up or something goes wrong suddenly we have a case of avian flu or now the all new and improved swine flu I dunno maybe I have just been watching too many Xfiles programs!
Today has been one hell of a hot day I thought it was bad last night as it was too hot to sleep me and Jen was up until gone 4 in the morning just trying to cool down but then after alot of tossing and turning we managed to grab an hour or two before giving up and just getting up early. It has been the hottest yet today with temperatures skirting the 91F or 33C we were literally wilting in the heat so we thought we would head off and try to get a fan to at least create a breeeze but as we went out the breeze of the day picked up and it has cooled down a little tonight but I am not sure how long it is likely to stay like that I know that it is supposed to be cool for the next few days but the crazy thing is that tomorrow night the temperature is supposed to drop below 0C :crazy: I tell you I cannot wait to get back to the grey and drizzle of a good UK summer :)
